Disney+: Monthly Fee for 7-Person Sharing, $8.7 Per Month
Disney+ delivers a treasure trove of more than 1,200 films and 16,000 programs from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and STAR. What’s more, you can share the access with up to 7 friends, paying as little as HK$8. 7 per person per month.
You can opt for the annual fee of HK$738 (HK$738 / 12 months / 7 users = $8.7 per month), but keep in mind that only 4 devices can be logged in simultaneously. It’s a case of “the more, the merrier”, but just remember to set some ground rules to avoid any streaming conflicts!
hmvod Streaming, with a Large Selection of Hong Kong Movies and Monthly Fees as Low as $39
hmvod can be considered a true video platform for Hong Kong people and is especially suitable for those who enjoy watching Hong Kong movies. hmvod has many telecommunications partnerships, including csl, 1010, 3HK, SmarTone, and China Unicom.
For example, csl and 1010 offer hmvod membership plans, where customers can watch all movies in the “VIP Unlimited” section unlimited times, receive 2 movie vouchers per month, and pay an average monthly fee as low as $34.125. Don’t forget about the limited-time monthly fee discounts that are frequently available.
3HK has launched a 14-month special promotion of hmvod for its mobile service users (first 2 months free, followed by 12 months of contract service), with a monthly fee of only $39, which includes the selection of 3 designated movies per month.
SmarTone has 2 promotion plans: the Standard Plan (no contract required) and the 12-month contract plan. The former can enjoy a free trial for 1 month, followed by a monthly fee of HK$48; the latter can enjoy a free trial for 3 months, followed by a monthly fee of HK$48, with an average monthly fee of HK$36. Both plans can receive 2 hmvod “movie coupons” per month.
China Unicom offers member benefits, those who sign a contract for 24 months can enjoy a $38 discount on monthly fees and 4 hmvod movie vouchers per month. However, it should be noted that members must register for the service in person at any Unicom store.
Note that hmvod’s charging model is quite special. The monthly fee includes “VIP Unlimited” and extra points per month. Points can be redeemed to watch the newly released movies.
The points charged are mostly 25 points for standard definition and 30 points for high definition. Each monthly fee will provide 60 points, which means that you can watch 2 sets of “points” movies per month.

Apple TV+’s Average Monthly Fee is as Low as $7
In 2019, Apple officially launched its new streaming service, Apple TV+, along with many directors and actors at the master’s level, including multiple original programs. For only HK$53 per month, you can have a family sharing account through the Apple system, which can be used by up to 5 family members. What’s more, by purchasing any iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, or Mac on or after July 1, 2021, and activating the device, you can enjoy a 3-month free trial.
Amazon Prime Video Only Costs $46.7 Per Month
Amazon Prime Video service attracts customers with a steal. The regular price is US$5.99 (roughly HK$46.7) per month, which is cheaper than several other platforms (in the case of a single account).
However, Amazon Prime only got a 7-day free trial period. Another catch is that the number of movies and TV shows that support Chinese subtitles is limited. They mainly provide content from European and American movies, and their original series “The Boys” is a big hit in North America. The popular, long-lived car show “The Grand Tour” is also a reason why many people subscribe to Prime Video.

Non-Now TV customers can also apply for this service by simply applying for a Now ID online. The $78/month bundle plan that includes HBO GO (also includes a 12-month pass for HK$880) also includes NOW EGG and MOViE MOViE PLAY.
