The COUNTER collection centres around sharing; a meal, a coffee, a conversation.

Using a range of stoneware clays, CUSTHOM has developed this breakfast set over the last few years, paying attention to the small details, exploring the form and investing time in the materials they choose to make with.

Jemma Ooi, co-founder at CUSTHOM, comments: “We want these pieces to be enjoyed, shared, loved, gifted and cherished. To hold your favourite flavours, to encourage traditions, or to be the starting point to newly formed rituals and simple pleasures.”

The range includes a milk jug, large jug, cup, plate and bowl which can be purchased alone or in sets. COUNTER is a continuation of the tableware ranges that CUSTHOM have been designing over the past few years which make the most of bold graphic lines in a way that is a statement on your table yet subtle enough to compliment each piece and their edible contents.

The pieces are slip cast in London, made from stoneware in small batches. The hand painted details around the rim of each item in the collection is created by glaze in a complimentary colour to the body of each piece.

Taking a playful approach to colour and form, the two London-based design studios are looking to add a little extra joy to living spaces this winter. The collection has been designed to add into the eclectic nature of how we shop for, and curate, our homes; each piece can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a set to quietly elevate our everyday life.The collection entails tumblers, highballs and a vase with three accompanying screen prints. Staying true to CUSTHOM’s ethos of considerate making, the vessels are formed from recycled glass supplied by revered glassware brand, LSA International. Locally-sourced clear jars and bottles are sorted, crushed and heated in the furnace until molten. The skilled glassblower gathers, shapes and then blows the molten glass into a mould to form the tumbler. The Oblique collection was developed through the dissection and reduction of blocks of text. Taking influence from the mail art movement in Berlin in the early 1970’s a web of information has evolved into the interweaving of lines in irregular blocks which gently touch and overlap. COUNTER, a new breakfast set from design studio CUSTHOM.

The COUNTER collection centres around sharing; a meal, a coffee, a conversation.

Using a range of stoneware clays, CUSTHOM has developed this breakfast set over the last few years, paying attention to the small details, exploring the form and investing time in the materials they choose to make with.

Jemma Ooi, co-founder at CUSTHOM, comments: “We want these pieces to be enjoyed, shared, loved, gifted and cherished. To hold your favourite flavours, to encourage traditions, or to be the starting point to newly formed rituals and simple pleasures.”

The range includes a milk jug, large jug, cup, plate and bowl which can be purchased alone or in sets. COUNTER is a continuation of the tableware ranges that CUSTHOM have been designing over the past few years which make the most of bold graphic lines in a way that is a statement on your table yet subtle enough to compliment each piece and their edible contents.

The pieces are slip cast in London, made from stoneware in small batches. The hand painted details around the rim of each item in the collection is created by glaze in a complimentary colour to the body of each piece.

Taking a playful approach to colour and form, the two London-based design studios are looking to add a little extra joy to living spaces this winter. The collection has been designed to add into the eclectic nature of how we shop for, and curate, our homes; each piece can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a set to quietly elevate our everyday life.The collection entails tumblers, highballs and a vase with three accompanying screen prints. Staying true to CUSTHOM’s ethos of considerate making, the vessels are formed from recycled glass supplied by revered glassware brand, LSA International. Locally-sourced clear jars and bottles are sorted, crushed and heated in the furnace until molten. The skilled glassblower gathers, shapes and then blows the molten glass into a mould to form the tumbler.
